"George Edgar Meeks, 89, of Monticello, died March 19, 1998, at Wagnon Place Nursing Home at Warren. Born July 25, 1908, in Drew County, he was a son of the late Jesse C. Meeks and Beuna Jennings Meeks. He was retired from the Arkansas Highway and Transporation Department. Survivors include two sons, Laron Meeks and Kirby Meeks, both of Monticello; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Funeral services are scheduled for 1:30 p.m. Saturday at Stephenson- Dearman Funeral Home at Monticello with the Revs. Larry Donaldson and Rex Robinson officiating.
