Jessie Mae Winslett Argroves, 94, of Phenix City, AL passed away on Thursday, September 10, 2020 at Parkwood Nursing Home.

A funeral service will be held at Vance Brooks Funeral Home, 4048 Macon Road, Columbus, GA on Wednesday, September 16, 2020 beginning at 1:00 pm. The family will receive friends Wednesday, September 16, 2020 at Vance Brooks Funeral Home from 12:00 pm until 1:00 pm, one hour prior to the service.

Jessie was born on December 11, 1925 in Tallapoosa County, AL to the late Calvin Lee Winslett and Bunie Lee Cotton Winslett.

She was employed for many years as a printer at Premier Graphics. Throughout her life, it was very evident that Jessie had a servant’s heart. Her willingness to go over and beyond earned her the honor of being the first recipient of the “Giving Your Best” Award from WRBL. A member of Ridgecrest Baptist Church, Jessie was a beloved part of the Golden Agers and truly enjoyed the friendships she had developed. This very special lady will be greatly missed by her family and friends but will always be lovingly remembered by all whose lives she touched.

Other than her parents, Jessie is preceded in death by her husband, Victor Keith Argroves, son, Rory Murphy, and brothers, Clifford Winslett and Hoyt Winslett.

Survivors include two sisters, Helen and Monroe Rufus Harvell, Jr. of Pensicola, FL; and Susie Winslett-Gardner and John, of Newnan, GA.
