Sonja Jones, age 81, of Fairfield Township, passed away peacefully Sunday, April 29, 2018 at her residence. She was born Thursday, January 14, 1937 in Greenville, Ohio to Herbert and Kate (nee Hufnagle) Jay.
An avid reader, Sonja especially enjoyed the author Mary Higgins Clark. She enjoyed crafts and liked to crochet. Her children have fond memories of her sewing clothes for them. She was active in her sorority and also gladly gave of her time to help work with contestants of Beauty Pageants and other volunteer work. Sonja loved the water and her family has fond memories of living on the lake. Her family will always smile when they remember Sonja's unique love of QVC.
Sonja was preceded in death by: parents, Herbert and Kate Jay; husband, Thomas Jones; and a niece, Angela Rutherford.
Sonja is survived by: three children; six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; sister; and other loving family members and friends.
Visitation will be held Saturday, May 5, 2018 from 12:30 PM to 1:30 PM at Mueller Funeral Home, 6791 Tylersville Road, Mason, Ohio 45040. A Memorial Service will follow at 1:30 PM at the Funeral Home with Pastor Jeff Ackenback of Tri-County Church of the Nazarene officiating.
