David Winter Smith, 94, died Dec. 10, 1979.
Born Jan 12, 1885, Salt Lake City, to Samuel Harrison Bailey and Julia Ann Restal Winter Smith. Married Mary Evalyn Lowry, Aug. 29, 1917, Salt Lake LDS Temple. She passed away Oct. 7, 1970. Graduate, Utah State University in agriculture and chemistry. Taught science at Murray High School for 25 years. Served an LDS mission in California and Germany with his wife; temple worker.
Survivors: two sons, daughter, Dr. D. Lowry Smith, Provo; Mrs. Virginia Smith Musser, St. George; Glen Winter Smith, North Ridge, Calif.; 17 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; sister, Susannah Beatie, Salt Lake City.
Funeral services Wednesday, 2 p.m., Holladay 14th Ward Chapel, 4917 Viewmont St. Friends may call Tuesday, 6-8 p.m., Mackay Cottonwood Mortuary, 4670 Highland Dr., and Wednesday at the church one hour prior to services. Interment, Holladay Memorial Park.
