RETIRED PRESSMAN
Bernard V. "Barney" Garey, 89, a retired pressman at Moore Business Forms, died Sunday (March 8, 1998) in his North Avenue home after apparently suffering a heart attack.
A native of Niagara Falls, Garey was a graduate of the old Trott Vocational High School.
He was a pressman at Moore from 1930 until 1972, when he retired.
Garey was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and its Holy Name Society. He was a church usher and a Catholic Charities worker for several years.
His wife, the former Genevieve Lewandowski, died in 1955.
Survivors include a son, Bernard R.; three daughters, Genevieve V. Casey of Portland, Ore., Cynthia Atkinson of the Town of Niagara and Christine Stoianoff; a brother, Matthew of Hayward, Calif.; 15 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
A Memorial Mass will be offered at 9:30 a.m. March 21 in Sacred Heart Church, 1100 South Ave.
Burial will be in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Lewiston.
