Services for Milton Burns Arnold, 89, Lawrence, will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at Rumsey-Yost Funeral Home. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery.

Mr. Arnold died Monday, April 30, 2001, at Lawrence Memorial Hospital.

He was born Jan. 21, 1912, in Stonewall, Okla., the son of Pollard Runnels and Kizzie Louisa (Burns) Arnold. He attended Kansas University and East Central State (Okla.) College, and earned a master's degree in teaching. He moved to Lawrence in 1962.

Mr. Arnold worked for the FBI in 1942 and had also taught high school in Oklahoma. After moving to Lawrence, he taught accounting at Haskell Institute and was the school photographer. He also taught continuing education for Lawrence public schools and did volunteer tax work for Senior Citizen's Center. He was a member of First United Methodist Church.

He married Clara Joan Green on July 1, 1942, in Oklahoma. She survives of the home.

Other survivors include a son, Ronald Keith, Lawrence; two daughters, Lesa Chamberlin, Lawrence, and Karen Miller, Topeka; and four grandchildren.
