Minnie Lou Howard

Funeral services for Minnie Lou Howard, 94, will be at 10:00 am on Thursday, September 10 in Bartley Chapel. Burial will be in Plainview Cemetery by Bartley Funeral Home. A visitation will be held Wednesday, September 9, 2020 from 6-7 p.m. at Bartley Funeral Home.
Mrs. Howard died at 1:05 pm Saturday, September 5, 2020 in Dallas after a brief illness.
She was born Minnie Lou Alley December 2, 1925 in Lubbock. She married Alfred Lee (Fred) Howard February 7, 1948. He died January 25, 1997. She lived in Hale Country most of her life before moving to Dallas to be with her family in 2017. Early in her career she worked for the Plainview Chamber of Commerce before spending 43 years with the Plainview Independent School District Administration office, retiring in 2004. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Plainview.
She was preceded in death by her husband Fred and a granddaughter, Laura Eleanor Howard, who died in 1993.
Survivors include a son, David L. Howard of Dallas, daughter-in-law Tonda and two grandchildren, Sam and Anna both of Dallas.
Throughout the course of 94 years, Lou lived a wonderful life based upon unconditional love for family, integrity and hard work. She made a difference in the lives she touched.
Donations in her memory can be made to support our nation’s military and first responders at Carry the Load or to the Hale County Farm and Ranch Museum.
