He is the son of the late Homer Cecil Neely, Sr. and Hettie Belle Richmond Neely.
He was a retired heavy equipment operator for Veceillio & Grogan Construction Company. He was a United States Navy veteran of World War II. He lived in Beckley the past nine years after living at Naples, Florida since retiring.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Georgia Brown Neely in October, 2000; and by an infant daughter, Susan Jeanette Neely in March, 1962; and by his brother William Joseph "Bill" Neely.
Survivors, his wife, Mary Ann Lilly {Allison} Neely; two step-children, Priscilla Ann Neal (husband Larry) and Rich Allison; sister Elizabeth Irene "Betty" Carper (husband Jim); step-grandson, Dan Snuffer Jr., and four nieces, Nancy, Sandy, Linda and Jo Ann.
Funeral service at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, October 4, 2011 at Rose & Quesenberry Peace Chapel, Beckley, with Rev. Ronald Adkins and Rev. Ronald Miller officiating. Burial in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens, Prosperity.
