Melcher Schmidt, she married Edward R. Clark on August 3, 1957 in Peoria, IL. He preceded her in death on January 4, 2018 in Peoria. Surviving are 1 daughter, Lynne Clark of East Peoria, and 3 sister-in-laws, Joanne Schmidt of Philo, IL, Carol Schmidt of East Peoria, IL, and Edna Braten of East Peoria, IL, and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by 2 brothers, Don and Dale and 1 sister Patricia. Marlene worked as the housekeeper at St. Monica’s Church in East Peoria for over 30 years, where she was also a member. Cremation rites will be accorded, and there will not be any services. Deiters Funeral Home and Crematory in Washington is assisting the family with arrangements.
