OBITUARY - Mrs. Emma Mattsson, 80, who died at her home, Warradale, on September 7 was born at Happy Valley. When she was about four years of age, she went with her parents, the late Mr. and Mrs. G. Usher, to what is now known as Kangarilla, their home being where the
Soldiers' Memorial Garden is now situated. Here, her father followed his trade as shoemaker. Mrs. Mattsson remembered the Bible Christian Church being finished, and since then it has
been demolished. Her father is interred in that cemetery. After the death of her father, her mother remarried the late Mr. Tune, of Baker's Gully. In July, 1875, she married Mr. E. Nyholm, and they lived at Goodwood for a number of years. There were seven children of this marriage,four of whom died when infants. About five years ago the son, Mr. E. E. Nyholm died at Broken Hill. Two daughters survive. Mrs. A. Manuel, Broken Hill, and Mrs. J. Summerton, Semaphore. In 1887, Mr. Nyholm died, and in 1889 she married Mr. Karl E. Mattsson, and they went to the Broken Hill district. Mr. Mattsson being employed in the Silverton Tramway Co. for many years. About 23 years ago they came to South Australia and have lived at Warradale since. Mrs. Mattsson was a worker in all church and Sunday-school efforts. There are four children living. Mrs. A. Daff, Marion; Mrs. A. Crossing, Keswick; Messrs. K. E. and B. R. Mattsson, Warradale. There are also 40 grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren.
