George founded Ransdell Surgical, Inc. in 1957, and later, at the age of 70, established Choice Medical, Inc. He was a member of Health Industry Distributors Association where he was awarded “1997 Man of the Year”, and was later inducted into the H.I.D.A. Hall of Fame.
George was passionate in his love for God and His Word. He and Marie have been faithful members of First Baptist Church of Venice, FL. George served as deacon of Highland Baptist and Bethany Baptist Churches of Louisville, and as deacon emeritus of Bethany Baptist Church. He was a member of Gideons International, where he served in prison ministry and held the offices of President and Chaplain of the KY chapter. George was a trustee of Campbellsville University for over forty years, and was awarded an Honorary Doctorate there. He was blessed in 2007, to witness the dedication of the Ransdell Chapel on its campus.
George was a member of the Kiwanis Club and was also an avid golfer. George was survived by his wife, Marie, and son, Michael (Amy), three grandchildren, and four great grandchildren.
