Wilbert Allen Anderson was born August 18, 1936, and died August 31, 2020, at the age of 84. A native of Nicholls, Georgia, he was the son of the late John S and Cleo Lingenfelter Anderson. As a child, Wilbert lived on a farm having many jobs as a teen. He graduated Valedictorian from Nicholls High School in 1954. He attended and graduated from South Georgia College and Jacksonville University. He also proudly served with the US Air Force for four years.

He married Mary Janelle Wright from Roswell, Georgia in 1962, they were married for 58 years separated only by his death. He considered those years the happiest years of his life.

Wilbert liked the outdoors, flowers and bird-watching. He especially liked working with all types of flowers.

He retired from Milliken Company and lived in Nicholls most of his life. He was a Christian, a member and deacon of Nicholls Baptist Church. He played the piano and was the church organist for several years.

He is survived by his wife, Janelle Anderson, his son Timothy (Tracy) Anderson of Rincon, Georgia, and his daughter, Carol (Dan) Tyner of Macon, Georgia. He is also survived by three grandsons, two granddaughters, and three great-grandchildren. Other survivors include his brother, Fred (Lila Jo) Anderson, his sister-in-law, Anna Faye Anderson, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation for Mr. Anderson will be held on Friday, September 4, 2020 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Nicholls Baptist Church. Graveside services will follow immediately after at Meeks Cemetery with Rev. Jerry Campbell officiating.

Crosby Funeral Home will be in charge of arrangements.
