Lorene Gilbert Buffington, 100, of East Point, died Tuesday, September 01, 2020. Lorene was a retired Bookkeeper with Cawthon-Hollums Properties, and was a member of Jefferson Avenue Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Taylor Louis Buffington, and is survived by her children, Gary Buffington, and Sandra & Ron Berg; and a grandson, Taylor Berg. A graveside service will be held at 12 Noon on Thursday, September 03 at Sherwood Memorial Park in Jonesboro, with Reverend Darwin Caldwell officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to Jefferson Avenue Baptist Church, 1150 Jefferson Ave., East Point, GA 30344, or to the Alzheimer's Association, Georgia Chapter, 41 Perimeter Center East, Suite 550, Atlanta, GA 30346. Visitation will be Thursday from 10:30 until 11:30 a.m. at the funeral home.
