Fairmont Sentinel, February 21, 1969

Mrs. George Personius, 83, of 220 S. Park St., died early this morning February 19, 1969, from the infirmities of age at St. Joseph's Home, here in Fairmont, MN, where she had been a resident for the past two months. She had suffered a stroke in November.

Lula Mae Scribner was born November 22, 1885 in Blue Earth County MN, and attended schools in Watonwan County, MN. At age 18 she moved with her family to Comstock, WI. On February 6, 1905 she married at Cumberland, WI, to George Personius.

They farmed two years in Watonwan County, then returned to Wisconsin. In 1915 they came to Fairmont where Mr. Personius was employed by Fairmont Railway Motors until his death in 1948.

She was a member of the Methodist Church, Woman's Relief Corps and Degree of Honor.

Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Arthur (Leona) Barke and Mrs. Walter (Viola) Barke, both of Fairmont, and Mrs. Merle (Ardis) Francisco of Des Moines, Iowa. There are five grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. Two brothers and three sisters are James Scribner and Mrs. Fred Jorgenson, both of Turtle Lake, WI, Glen Scribner of St. Paul, Mrs. T. A. Jorgenson of Cumberland, WI, and Mrs. Kenneth Legacy of Comstock, WI.

Funeral Services were Monday at the Olson Funeral Home of Fairmont with burial in the Lakeside Cemetery.
