Dorothy Gerane Jerry Goforth of Sunriver, Oregon, passed away peacefully on December 31, 2016 with her family at her side at Hospice House of Bend. She was 88.
A Celebration of Life will take place Saturday, January 14, 2017, from 2:00 - 4:00 p.m. at the DRRH Neighbor's Club, located at 17200 Milky Way in Sunriver.
Jerry was born March 19, 1928, in Betteravia, California, to Valentine and Irma (Hitchcock) Herring.
She, along with her husband, Jim moved to Oregon in 1974, where she worked at several businesses in Bend until moving to Sunriver in 1978. There she worked at Sunriver Resort and then ran the Sunriver Chamber of Commerce. Jerry also volunteered her bookkeeping skills to the DRRH HOA for many years. After her retirement, her love of animals kept her busy caring for dogs.
Jerry is survived by her children, Kathy Seeley, Bobby Nickerson, David Nickerson, Tami Johnson, Janet Wojciechowski, Jeannie Greatorex, Diana Clarke, and Kim Goforth. Other survivors include numerous great and great- great-grandkids.
Jerry was preceded in death by her husband, Jim Goforth; a son, Danny and a granddaughter, Jennifer.
