BALDRIDGE, J. Q., Sr. of Rockdale & Houston. Age 81. Died 2/12/1973 (Tuesday) at his home at 1706 Banks, Houston. Services held 2/14/1973 (Thursday) in the Sage Road Chapel, Geo. H. Lewis & Sons. Burial was in Forest Park Lawndale Cemetery. Rev. Arthur S. Knapp officiated. Geo. H. Lewis & Sons in charge of arrangements. BORN 4/28/1891, he was a native of Milam County and at one time was a partner in the drug firm in Rockdale known at Baldridge Bros. After the death of his brother, Bev Baldridge, operated the drug store and became associated with Ed Prewitt, the firm name being Baldridge & Prewitt Drug Store. In 1936 when J.Q. Baldridge moved to Houston, he sold out his interest and Prewitt operated the store as Prewitt Drug Store, until, he sold out a few years ago to Darrall Walker. The firm name remains as Prewitt Drug Store. He was a member of Trinity Episcopal Church in Houston. SURVIVORS: Daughter, Miss Beverly B. Baldridge; son, J.Q. Baldridge, Jr.; sisters, Mrs. J.B. Black and Mrs. Lola Yeary, all of Houston.
