He was BORN 10/10/1899 in TX and was the pastor of the Christ Lutheran Church at Noack from 1950 to 1963. Retired from active ministry and was making his home in Brenham.

SURVIVORS: Wife, Mrs. Anna Marten Appel of Brenham; 2 sons, Carl L. Appel of Ozona and Rev. Vernon M. Appel of Thorndale; 2 daughters, Miss Dorothy Ann Appel of LaMarque and Mrs. Wallace (Ruth) Roos of Houston; brother, Henry Appel of Brenham; 10 grandchildren.
