Roma McFarland, 73, of East Grand Forks, MN, formerly of Oslo, MN, passed away on Thursday, June 5, 2008 at her home surrounded by her family.

Roma Naomi Kallock was born September 3, 1934 to Tove R. and Evelyn T. (Gunderson) Kallock on the Kallock family farm near Oslo. She was a 1952 graduate of Oslo High School and also graduated from Aaker's Business College in Grand Forks, ND and Northwest School of Medical Technology in Minneapolis, MN. She was united in marriage to Weldon L. McFarland on February 20, 1954 in Minneapolis. They moved to Bigwoods Township in 1957 where they farmed until 1998 when they moved to East Grand Forks.

Roma is survived by her loving husband of 54 years, Weldon; sons, Gregg (Karen) of Southlake, TX and Michael (Cindy) of Alvarado, MN; daughters, Mary Jo (Robert) Sweeney of Manvel, ND, Deborah Hoverson of Manvel, ND, Lisa (Mike) Stanley of Edina, MN and Leah (Dean) Swanson of Mound, MN; nineteen grandchildren, Erin, Jill, Naomi (Christian), Heidi (Nick), Ashley, Wesley, Jared (Deidra), Matthew, Megan, Michael (Mandy), Alyssa (Dan), Casey (Sara), Fallon, Norah, Lauren, Aidan, Paige, Hannah and Andrew; four great-grandchildren, Mercedes, Madilynn, Max and Shyanne, brother, William (Louise) Kallock of East Grand Forks, MN; sister-in-law, Lorraine Kallock of Fargo, ND and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents and three brothers, Kelly, Ralph and Ronald.

SERVICE: 2:00 PM on Sunday, June 8, 2008 at Zion Lutheran Church in Oslo, MN.
VISITATION: After 4:00 PM with a 5:00 PM prayer service on Saturday at Zion Lutheran Church in Oslo and one hour before services on Sunday.
INTERMENT: Bigwoods Lutheran Cemetery, rural Oslo, MN.
