Obituary for Nell Alspaw
Eola Nell Tate Alspaw passed away peacefully, August 13th of natural causes. Known for her infectious smile, twinkling blue eyes and outgoing personality, she will be missed by all who knew her. She was a devoted wife, wonderful mother, mother-in-law, sister, friend and simply the best grandmother. Nell had a deep faith and servant heart. No matter where they lived or traveled, she made friends and welcomed everyone to her table. Born July 26, 1933 in Giddings, TX, Nell was a graduate of Giddings High School and Blinn Junior College, then moved to Austin to work, met and married Ivan, March 26, 1955.

For 65 years they lived life fully together wherever they lived or traveled. Always active in charitable, social, church organizations and was an active member of DAR.

Nell is survived by her husband, Ivan Alspaw; son and wife Jon and Debbie Alspaw, Dallas, TX, daughter Julie Alspaw, Austin, TX , son and wife Joel and LeeAnn Alspaw, Southlake, TX; grandchildren Alyssa and fiancé, Scott Hinckley, Cameron and wife Carley, Alex, Emily and fiance' Chase Ford, and Kelly; 3 great grandchildren; brother and wife Milton and Twila Tate, Brenham, TX; sister Mariam Namken, Weslaco, TX; sister-in-law Linda Tate, Giddings, TX. She is preceded in death by her parents Milton and Mariam Tate, and step mother, Elner Tate, brother James Tate, brother in law Neal Namken and brother in law and wife Jerry and Marty Alspaw.

The family will receive visitors Saturday, August 22 from 4:00 to 6:00 PM at Restland Memorial Park in Dallas. A memorial service will be at Restland Memorial Chapel Sunday, August 23 at 2:00 PM followed by graveside service. The service can also be viewed by live stream (see link below). In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the charity of your choice.
