Luella Fern Swearingen

Mrs. Luella Fern Swearingen age 89, died Wednesday morning July 9, 1986 at the Mother Hull Home where she had been a residence for 10 years. She was born November 28, 1896 in Howells, Nebraska and had been a residence of Kearney for 19 years. She previously lived in Chadron and Valintine areas. She was a member of the New Life Assemble Church.
Surviving relatives include four daughters, Avis Cady of Kearney, Chloe E
Shelbourn of Broken Bow, Nebraska, Mildred Fischer of Buena Vista, Colorado and Reva Thorpe of Carbondale, Colorado, one son Neal Swearingen of Smithland, Iowa, 26 grandchildren, a number of great grandchildren and one great great granddaughter.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur L. Swearingen in August of 1958, parents, one son, two grandchildren, two brothers and one sister.
Funeral services were Saturday morning at 9:00 A.M. at the Horner-Lieske-Horner Mortuary with Rev. D.R. Nelson officating. Graveside services and burial were at 2:00 P.M. Saturday afternoon at the Mount Hope Cemetery in Valintine, Nebraska. Officiating was Rev. Jimmy Shelbourn, Memorials are planned to the Mother Hull Home, Kearney, Nebraska.
Horner-Lieke-Homer Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
