PIONEER WOMAN TAKEN BY DEATH
Mrs. Sophia Valet dies at home of
daughter in Moscow at age of 91 years
Mrs Sophia Valet, 91, a pioneer resident of this community, died at 1:30 p.m. today at the house of her daughter, Mrs Grant Hearst. She had been ill for several weeks with dropsy and complications due to old age. Funeral arrangements are imcomplete. Coming to his portion of Iowa when a girl with her parents from Nelson County, Pennsylvania, she had been a resident since of Wilton and Moscow communities.
She is survived by four daughters; Mrs Alfred Marolf (Mary) of Hopkinton, IA., Mrs Cora Hawker (Sophia) of West Liberty, Mrs Lee Tharp (Sue) and Mrs Grant Hearst (Anna) of Moscow; one brother, Rank Fultz of Los Angeles, Calif and a sister, Mrs Susie Duffee of Spokane, Wash. She is also survived by 21 grandchildren.
Burial is in Oakdale Cemetery, Wilton, Iowa.
