Obituary from the Onalaska Holmen Courier-Life April 21, 2006: Aline Bright, 83, of Sparta, passed away on Saturday, April 15, 2006, at her home in Sparta. She was born April 14, 1923, in Maquoketa, IA, to Arthur and Leona (Bodkin) Godard. In 1942, she married Earl Bright in Savanna, IL. Aline was employed by Northern Engraving in Sparta for 25 years. She loved and valued her church membership. Aline had a passion for reading and bingo. Also, she enjoyed sewing, quilting and needlework. Aline is survived by her children, Barb (George) Gannon of Trevor, WI, Bill (Lois) Bright of Holmen, Earl (Darla) Bright of Hillsboro, OR, Cindy (Ron) Hoff of Scappoose, OR, Clifford (Joanne) Bright of Westby, WI, Richard (Melaine) Bright of Bangor, David (Chris) Bright of West Salem, Roberta Kotek of West Salem, and Kathy Bright of Warrenton, VA; brother, Robert Rupp; sisters, Carolyn Waite, Jeanette Krause, and Emma Jean Thile; brother, Lester Godard; 19 grandchildren, Alice, Leroy, Allen, Matt, Billy, Tammy, Tina, Patrick, Robert, Phillip, Melissa, Michael, Amanda, Aaron, Chrystal, Sam, Jon, Janet and Maxwell; seven great-grandchildren, Stephanie, Ashley, Cain, Levi, Madlin, Morgan and John; and other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Earl, on March 5, 2004; her parents, Arthur and Leona; and two infant children who died at birth. A memorial service was held April 18 at the Torkelson Page-Smith Funeral Home in Sparta, with a private family burial to take place at a later time. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be given of your choice.
