Juanita Crackel, 92, died January 8, 2020 at an assisted living facility in Mesa, AZ.

She was born August 24, 1927 in Clay County to Lynn Albert and Leora Staley Pearce.

Juanita was a member of the Clay City Christian church, Drury Christian church in Carbondale, as well as the Grand Avenue Christian church.

She taught in District 95 until her retirement in 1998. She donated thousands of hours volunteering at the Anna Veterans Home and Carbondale Memorial Hospital. She was also a member of the Cisne Chapter 4973 Order of the Eastern Star for more than 50 years.

Juanita is survived by her son, Mike (Victoria) Crackel; three grandsons, Chad and Brice Crackel, and Christopher Gonzales; a brother, Trevor Pearce of Clay City; three great-great grandkids; and one great-great-great grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her husband (Carroll), three sisters (Lois Dugger, Gleneva Grayson, and Gennell Doris).

Due to Covid, her ashes have been buried in the Clay City Cemetery next to her beloved husband Carroll Crackel who died in 1998.
