Hazel Taylor was the daughter of Allen R. and Emma Ray Baker. She is buried beside her first husband, Harry Lassiter. After his death, she married J.T. Taylor 12 July 1979 in Eastland Co, TX.

OBITUARY: Palestine (TX) Herald-Press, Sunday, 12 November 1995:

Services for Hazel Lassiter Taylor, 86, of Elkhart, will be at 1 p.m. Monday at First United Methodist Church of Elkhart with the Revs. Don Dodge and Curtis Grissett officiating. Burial will be in Garden of Memories Cemetery under the direction of Bailey & Foster.

Mrs. Taylor died Saturday in a local hospital.

She was born in Houston County on Oct. 26, 1909, to Allen R. and Emma Ray Baker. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Elkhart, a Past Worthy Matron, Palestine Chapter No. 395, Order of the Eastern Star and active in all organizations in Elkhart.

Mrs. Taylor was preceded in death by her first husband, Harry Lassiter, on Jan. 19, 1966; her second husband, J. T. Taylor, on Feb. 4, 1981; eight brothers, Reagan Baker, Owen Baker, Warren Baker, Mack Baker, Ray Baker, Jack Baker and Elvin Baker, and two sisters, Alice Salmon and Estha Baker.

She is survived by a sister, Loyetta Starr of Clute; brother, J. W. Baker of San Antonio; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Condolence calls will be received from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be nephews.
