Phyllis Dyer Hey was born October 31, 1912, in Osceola, MO, to Albert and Hattie Riddle Dyer. She passed away June 16, 1999, at Belton Research Hospital in Belton, MO. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Saturday, June 19, at SheldonGoodrich Chapel in Osceola; burial in Osceola Cemetery. Family will receive friends 6-7 p.m. Friday at D.W. Newcomer's Sons Overland Park Chapel, 8201 Metcalf, Overland Park, KS.

Phyllis was an educator in the Osceola, Kansas City and Shawnee Mission school districts with a master's from Kansas University. After her retirement she was a member and past president of the Johnson County Senior Arts Council and displayed many of her paintings in their shows.

Phyllis was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence W. Hey Sr., on July 22, 1998.

She is survived by her three sons, Clarence W. Hey of Raymore, MO, Richard Hey of Shawnee Mission, KS, and Kenneth Hey of Atlanta, GA; three grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; a sister-in-law, Mary Dyer of Belton, MO; other relatives and friends.
