A daughter of Lois Bradford and Vernon Romney. Married James D. Maher June 16, 1949 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Graduated from the University of Utah with a BS degree in Elementary Education. Taught at Whittier School in Granite School District. Taught patients at the Primary Children's and Shiners Hospitals. A member of Alpha Chi Omega and Beta Nu. Active in politics. Served on the Utah State Republican Central Committee, in the Women's Republican Club. Receptionist for the Utah State Senate for many years. Was a teacher for 60 years in Primary, Relief Society and the Young Women's organization for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Survived by children, David (Debbie) Maher, Rebecca (Joel) Chaston, Rowena (Rod, deceased) England and Suki (Byambaa) Mongoljav, 12 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, brothers and sisters, Vernon B (Pat), Ralph B. (Pat), Keith B. (Janet), John B. (Chere), Beverly Cutler, Geraldine Busath (Boyd), Yvonne Dixon (Michael).
