Josephine S. Buragas, 89, of Springfield, passed away at 6:00 p.m. Saturday, December 20, 2003 at Heritage Manor Nursing Home. She was born March 19, 1914 in Springfield, the daughter of John and Marcella Banzin Achas. She married Joseph Buragas, Sr. on February 16, 1933 in Springfield. He preceded her in death in 1988.

Mrs. Buragas was a homemaker. She was a member of the Catholic Daughters of America, and enjoyed taking trips with them. Josephine enjoyed Bingo and Bunco and even belonged to a Bunco Club. She was proud of her Lithuanian heritage and loved her family dearly.

Josephine was also preceded in death by her parents; infant son: John Michael; three brothers: Charlie, John, and Tony Achas; and one sister: Ann Dennis. She is survived by two sons: Joseph (wife, Jeanette) and David W. (wife, Gloria) Buragas both of Springfield; four grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Funeral services at Kirlin-Egan and Butler Funeral Home with Rev. Msgr. Thomas P. Holinga officiating. Burial in Calvary Cemetery.
