Otis Mayfield Marshall, son of Benjamin and Matilda Marshall was born in Prairie Dale, Indiana on March 6, 1869 and passed from this life January 9, 1937 at the age of 67 years, 10 months, and 3 days.
On May 14, 19008, he was united with Maude Smith. To this union were born 8 children, who all survive him. He came to Harrison County, Missouri with his mother at the age of 9. He was baptized as a member of the Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Later Days Saints in early manhood, to which faith he remained faithful.
He leaves to mourn his sudden departure, his companion, Mrs. Maude Marshall of Tarkio, Missouri and eight children; Vern Marshall, Tarkio, Missouri, Mrs. Gladys Rhinehart of Hatfield, Missouri, Mrs. Jennie Gregg of Diagonal, Gernie Marshall of Ringgold, Mrs. Lucille Webb of Savanah, Missouri, Olin, Opal, and Inez at home. Also one brother, E. E. Marshall of Lamoni, as well as 11 grandchildren. HIs parents, two brothers, and two sisters preceded him to the Great Beyond. His sudden departure is a great shock and loss to his community and family.
Funeral services were conducted at the Lone Rock Church, January 11, 1937, by Rev. Orville Rinehart. Music was furnished by the Kater sisters and Leota Davis. Burial was in the Lone Rock Cemetery.

Prior to his first marriage, Otis and Elizabeth Emma Johnston were parents of a daughter. He was first married to Ella D. Kinder on 16 May 1900. Second married to Maud Smith on 30 Jul 1905.
