Marian, the daughter of Henry and Anna (Rohwer) Arp, was born on February 6, 1920, at the Arp family farm in Lincoln township near Gladbrook. She attended country school near Gladbrook.
Marian married Lloyd Schulz on February 16, 1938, at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, Iowa.
Marian was a homemaker, a partner in farming with Lloyd, and a mother to all who came within her sphere. She was a member of Peace United Church of Christ and Afternoon Guild in Gladbrook. Marian was also a lifelong member of the Neighborhood Club.
Lloyd and Marian had a wonderful group of friends who polka danced and vacationed together for years; so much laughter and fun was had by all. She loved to crochet and her family and many friends received beautiful crocheted gifts from her. She was a wonderful cook and a passionate reader, having read most of the books in the Gladbrook library.
Survivors include her children; Janet (Larry) Wacha of Toledo, Iowa, Julie (Chuck) Hall of Ankeny, Iowa, and Jeff (Kelli) Schulz of West Des Moines, Iowa; daughter-in-law Judy Fink Gladbrook Iowa; 11 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and 11 great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Lloyd; a son, Leon Schulz; four brothers; and four sisters.
Anderson Funeral Homes in Gladbrook, Iowa∼Funeral service for Marian Schulz, 100, were held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, August 17, 2020, at Maple Hill Cemetery in Gladbrook, Iowa. Rev. Robert Doner officiated the services.
Casket bearers were Ryan Schulz, Justin Schulz, Travis Schulz, Mark Goettsch, Colton Plus, and Jason Winkelmann.
Interment was in Maple Hill Cemetery, Gladbrook.
Anderson Funeral Homes was entrusted with arrangements.
