Respected Resident of Calvert City Died Yesterday.
Mrs. Pearl Bowland, 41 years old, died at her home in Calvert City Friday night at 8 o'clock after an eight months' illness. She was the wife of W. H. Bowland, a well known contractor, and a woman respected in a wide circle of friends. Mrs. Bowland formerly was Miss Pearl Hurt, of Paducab. She was a native of Marshall county, but the greater part of her life was spent in McCracken. She was a faithful member of the Methodist church. Besides her husband she is survived by eight children; Mrs. Nora Goodman, of Missouri, and Misses Vera, Pansy, Olivia and Valeria Bowland and Masters Harry and Louis Bowland and an infant. Four sisters: Mrs. May Troutman, of Paducah; Mrs. William Gholson and Misses Lillle and Bessie Hurt and three brothers, Messrs. Roy, Fay and Eldridge Hurt. The funeral will take place Sunday morning at 11 o'clock at the Rosebower cemetery. The burial will be under the auspices of the Eastern Star and the Woodman circle.
