On Sunday. August 9th 2020, Virginia Carol Whalen (78), died at Hospice Compassionate Care Center. She was the widow of Regis E. Whalen.

She was the daughter of James Edward and Hazel Anderson. She was retired from the library at EKU and was a member of the Union City Baptist Church.

She leaves behind two daughters,Tameria Dawn Ritchison (Gary) of Richmond, Kentucky and Tracy LeAnderia Holton (Stan) also of Richmond. She had four step daughters. Aileen Perkins, Kathy Arbogast, Pam Smith, and Cynthia Ellington.

She is survived by her brother, James Kenneth Anderson, extended family members and many close friends.

Her grandchildren include, Brandon Ritchison, Brianna Ritchison, DeLaynie Holton and Jesse Perkins.

Carol loved life and would want kindness and charity to be sown like the seeds in her garden.

There will be a private, graveside burial service on Thursday, August 13, 2020 at 1pm.
