Wilfred Earl Ward was born July 18, 1905 to Earl and Mary Vernon Osborne Ward in DeSoto, Kansas.

While a yound lad, the family moved to Paola, Kansas where the informal and formal education was received. High School education came through the local system, graduating in 1923.

On September 15, 1926, he married Marian Olive Bettis at Paola. To this union was born one son, Wilfred Earl Jr., who passed away at the age of 8 years.

Living in Paola, the first few years of their married life, they then moved to Oklahoma where the next decade was spent. They then came back to Paola for a couple of years, before moving to California in 1940. There they worked together in the Grocery Market Business until their retirement. He was a member of the Christian Church. His wife Marian passed away last fall, October 13, 1982.
