Inscription

"To the memory of Francis Kerby Sen. who departed this life on Friday the 14th day of October 1831 aged about 73 years. In him society has lost a valuable member. Oh that the tear of sympathy may be shed to water his grave by those who best knew his worth in remembrance of his former kindness to all in him the fatherless and unprotected the orphan and the widow equally sustain a loss."
