Isaiah S. Dick.
I.S. DICK, long-time resident of the Clover Hill neighborhood north of Williamstown, passed away last Wednesday evening after an illness of 18 months, at the age of 84 years. He had been confined to a wheel chair during most of his illness.
Services were held at the home and the Christian church in Perry, with Rev. Homer Wroten of Oskaloosa officiating, and burial was made at the Buster cemetery.
Isaiah S. Dick was born in Pulaski county, Ky., March 31, 1860, the second child of John and Bethena Dick. When he was four, the family removed to Kansas and settled north of Williamstown wher Isaiah grew to manhood with ten brothers and sisters.
He was married February 10, 1886, to Elizabeth GAY. Of their ten children, eight were present on the occasion of their parents 50th wedding anniversary, Feb. 10, 1936. Seven of his children, and their mother survive. They are Frank of Perry, Mrs. Stella SCHERER, Lawrence; Mrs. Lena IRVINE, Osawatomie; Ralph Dick, Topeka; Mrs. Cassie MAY, Williamstown; Clarence and Bennie of Rossville.
Mr. Dick joined the Christian church in Perry at the age of 31 and has lived a devoted Christian life. He was a good husband, father and neighbor and will be sadly missed.
