Dr. William Duval Price (c1808-46/7) married in 1828 his first cousin, Marcia Pope DuVal (c1814-65), daughter of Governor William Pope (1784-1854) and Nancy Hynes DuVal (1786-1841). They lived in Galveston, Tx. Their sons were William DuVal, Jr. (1836-77), John H., and James Price who lived in Ohio and was an attorney. William DuVal Price Jr. (1836-77) was an attorney in Austin, Tx. He married in 1866, Catharine Starr (1843-), daughter of Samuel Henry and Eliza Kurtz Starr, of New York. Their four children were Henry Starr (1867-68), Louis Pope (1869-), Marcia Tot (1871-72), and Eliza Kate Price (1875-).

Dr. William DuVal Price's mother was Lucy Pope DuVal, first daughter of Maj. William (1748-1842) and Anne “Nancy” Pope DuVal (c1753-92), who was born about 1775, at Mansfield, Richmond, Va. She married in 1795, William Price (1772-1808), son of Samuel and Elizabeth M. Puryear Price, of Richmond. He was registrar of the Virginia Land Office in Richmond. Their five children were James (c1799-); John Harvie who died in Ohio; Alexander; Ann Pope (1802/8-55); and Dr. William DuVal Price (c1808-46/7).

James Price (c1799-) married and died in Ohio. His sons were John H. and James Price, Jr.

Ann Pope Price (1802/8-55) married in 1838, Dr. Alfred Leyburn (1802-78)(UPenn M.D. 1825), son of Capt. John (1770-1831) and Jane McDowell Leyburn (1775-1818), of Lexington, Va. He served in the Virginia House of Delegates, 1835-36, 1838-42, 1853. They lived at Elmwood near Lexington. Their four children were Lucy Pope (1839-); Alfred (1845-1924) who married Anna Baird (1859-1944); Jane (1848-1917); and Walter Howard Leyburn (1851-1934) who was a mining engineer in Augusta County, Va. The latter married c1887, Elizabeth Cummings Preston (1853-1936), and their four children were Bessie C. (1889-), Jennie P. (1891-), Alfred P. (1893-), and Nellie C. Leyburn (1895-). Jane “Jennie” Leyburn (1848-1917) married Presbyterian minister Rev. Alonzo Rice Cocke (1858-1901)(W&L c1818)(Union Theo. 18_), and a daughter was Frances Lea Cocke (1881-1919)(dsp).
