Surrounded by her three children, Betty M. Bosanic, age 72, of Lansing, Michigan went to be with the Lord on August 4, 2020. Betty was born on December 30, 1947, in Manistique, Michigan, the daughter of Douglas and Caroline Howard. She graduated from Manistique High School.

On July 2, 1966, Betty married John J. Bosanic in Manistique. After marriage, Betty and John moved to Lansing where Betty was employed as a hairdresser and manicurist until her retirement. She especially appreciated the social aspect of her work and called many clients friends.

Betty was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She enjoyed flower gardening, bingo and card games, country music, and karaoke. Betty also liked to knit and crochet. Baby blankets she made would often become favorites and used and loved until they fell apart. She also enjoyed travel with favorite trips to Hawaii and Las Vegas, and a memorable family trip to Disney with all her kids and grandkids.

Betty was preceded in death by her husband, John in 2008; as well as her parents, Douglas Howard and Caroline (Wood) Howard. She is survived by two sons, Brian Bosanic of DeWitt, MI and Todd (Liz) Bosanic of East Lansing, MI and one daughter, Lisa (Camden) Smith of Holt, MI. She has 7 grandchildren whom she loved dearly, Taylor, Ty and Zoe Bosanic, Benjamin and Calvin Bosanic, and Jordan and Ashton Smith. She is also survived by siblings, Leroy (Carol) Howard, Randy (Jody) Howard, Rick (Tincey) Howard, Patricia (Gene) Moore, and Marcey (Andy) Norton. Betty’s life touched several relatives and friends. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her.

A small outdoor graveside funeral service will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 13, 2020, with Betty’s nephew Pastor Mark Hazen officiating. Burial will be at Fairview cemetery in Manistique next to her husband. For the safety of all attending the service, the family requests you please wear a mask. Additionally, in consideration of state health restrictions, this will be the only service.

The family wishes to specifically thank neighbors Carol and Joe Ingraham, and friend Leora Stutes for their assistance and kindness to Betty over many years. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorials in Betty’s name be sent to the Greater Lansing Food Bank, or Haven House in East Lansing.
