Helen L. Anderson (nee Schlobohm), passed away at the age of 89, on September 5, 2007 at home. Born in Porter Township, Porter County on October 12, 1917 to the late George F. and Viola (Slanger) Schlobohm. She was a lifelong resident of Valparaiso. She was charge of the lunch program at Immanuel Lutheran School for 25 years and a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, Benefit Society, Christ Care Bible Study Group. YMCA Senior Wet Class, and Women of the Moose. Survived by four daughters: Alice (Delbert) Pittman of Valparaiso, IN, Cheryl (Doug) Adkins of Valparaiso, IN, Linda (Carl III) Bornes of Zeeland, MI, Karen (Dave) Paupp of Valparaiso, IN; son Arden (Beth) Anderson of Valparaiso, IN; nine grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; sister and best friend Dolores (Steve) McEnterfer of Valparaiso, IN; numerous nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by husband Carroll F. "Speed" Anderson; two children: Arthur Adam Anderson and Carolyn Louise Anderson; brother Melvin Schlobohm. Funeral service on Monday, September 10, 2007 at 1:00 p.m. with Chapel Visitation starting at 12:00 Noon at the Immanuel Lutheran Church, 1700 N. Monticello Park Dr., Valparaiso, IN. Pastor Daniel Eggold officiating and Eulogy given by Rev. Merlin Bray. Interment at Graceland Cemetery, Valparaiso, IN. Friends may call Sunday, September 9, 2007 from 3-7 p.m. at the Dykes Funeral Home, 2305 N. Campbell St., Valparaiso, IN. In lieu of flowers memorials may be given to the family.
