He died January 7, 2015, peacefully at home in Tucson, AZ.
The youngest of nine children, Paul grew up during the Depression on a farm near Riverton, WY. The only one of his family to go to college, Paul graduated from the University of Wyoming in 1942 with a BS degree in animal science.
After graduation, he enlisted in the US Army Air Corps, where he served as a bombardier and bombardier instructor during WWII.

Paul is survived by his wife of 68 years, Ellen; son, Michael Drake (Patti) of Tucson; daughter, Susan Bookout (Deandra) of Portland, OR; son, David Drake (Cheryl) of Long Beach, CA; four grandchildren; and one great-granddaughter.
