Geraldine Jones Cheney, daughter of Cecil L. Jones and Eva Snowder Jones entered Heaven August 1st, 2020. Jerry was born October 26, 1927 in McAlester, Oklahoma. She graduated from McAlester High School, class of 1945 and The Oklahoma College for women in 1949. After moving to Oklahoma City, for work, she later lived many years in The Village. She retired in 1994 after working 30 years for Scrivner, Inc. as a risk management administrator. She was a member the Britton Christian Church, Beta Sigma Phi, and volunteered at the Britvil Community Food Pantry. She married Alonzo (Steve) Cheney, Jr. on April 14, 1976 in Kingfisher, Oklahoma. She is survived by her sister-in-law, Carolyn Jones of Edmond, Oklahoma, nephew, Michael Jones of Houston, Texas, niece, Susan Jones of Dallas, Texas, and step-son, Mike and Sandy Cheney of Green Bay, Wisconsin and their family, Erin, Evan, and Avery Butterfield. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and her brother, Cecil Leland Jones, Jr. Jerry had many interests, liked to be involved and was always willing to take on a new project. She was a friend to many and she had many friends! She will be missed. The family would like to thank The Britton Christian Church for their love and support, The Veraden Retirement Community, and Physician’s Choice Hospice. Services are pending.
