Mr. Ray died Saturday, July 4, 1998, at Southwinds Care Center in Lawrence.
He was born July 25, 1906, to Alonzo and Bertha Hudson Ray in Linn Creek, Mo.
He was a laborer for the city of Lawrence for 13 years. He was a member of the Clinton Parkway Assembly of God.
He married Goldie I. Tate. She survives of the home.
Other survivors include two sons, Bobby J. and Donald L., Lawrence; 15 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.
