John Read was the third of the seven sons of Joseph Read and Sarah Sutton. He was the fourth of their 11 children. John married Elizabeth Ogden, the daughter of Gabriel Ogden and Mary Shotwell. The couple had nine children before John died in 1814. Elizabeth remarried after his death. Her second husband was William Wintersteen. Elizabeth is also buried in Union Brick, however, she is buried with her parents.

John Reed died April 20 1814 aged 45 years, 2 months & 4 days. Transcription date: 25 June 1983.
Gravesite Details
Note that the name of the stone is Reed. All his probate papers are under Read and the family uses READ to this day (I am a direct dexcendant).
