W.Va. following an illness of several weeks.
He was born April 15, 1896 at Deer Park, Maryland, the son of the late Charles E. and Martha Fitzwater Nine. Most of his life was spent at Morgantown and in the Brock community.He was a member of the Valley Chapel United Methodist Church at Brock and active in church affairs. He was a lay leader and member of the official board and for 18 years was Sunday School Superintendent.He was a retired employe of the A & P Supermarket at Morgantown where he was manager of the meat department until his retirement in 1962 after 26 years.He was a member of the Greene County Pomona Grange and the Hoovers Run Grange and served as Chaplain of each for eight years. He belonged to the Knights of Pythias Lodge at Morgantown and served with the U.S. Army during World War I.He is survived by his widow, Vergie Wade Nine whom he married September 6, 1931; two nieces, Mrs. Fred (Martha) Zermack of Ann Arbor, Mich. and Mrs. Harding (Jean) Halloway of the State of Arizona; three grand nephews; one grand niece also several nieces and nephews.A sister, Margaret and a brother, Herschel are deceased.
