Robert A. Rabe, 87, of Schuyler, passed away Wednesday, April 25, 2012 in Schuyler.

A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 P.M. Monday, April 30th at Trinity Lutheran Church in Schuyler with Rev. Bill Mattfeld, officiating. Inurnment will be in the Schuyler Cemetery.

Robert was born September 12, 1924 in Bartlett, Nebraska to William F. and Helene (Hoefs) Rabe. He was confirmed in 1938 at St. Peters Lutheran Church. He graduated from Orchard, NE High School.

On September 15, 1946, Robert married Ruby Novotny in Schuyler.

Robert served in the U.S. Army from 1944 to 1945. He was awarded the Bronze Star and Purple Heart for his service.

After completing his military service he sold pharmaceutical supplies.

Robert enjoyed all outdoor activities, especially hunting, fishing, and camping. He loved snowskiing and was an avid Denver Broncos fan.

Robert is survived by a daughter Renate L. Rabe Rosen and her husband Andrew, of Schuyler, sister Violet Rabe Hansen of Tuscon, AZ; 3 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren, a nephew and nieces.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Ruby, son Robert, daughters Rajean and Renee, brother Norman and sister Ardyce.
