Elton R. Fevurly, 95, Leavenworth, died Thursday, April 6, 2006, at the Parkway Care Home in Edwardsville. Visitation was held Sunday at the Belden-Sexton-Sumpter Funeral Chapel, 500 Oak St., Leavenworth, (913) 682-1614. Funeral services were Monday at the funeral home with burial following in the Sunset Memorial Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials to the church in care of the funeral home.

Mr. Fevurly was born Aug. 20, 1910 in Easton, the son of Nathan L. and Ida C. (Currie) Fevurly. He was married to Edna Whitman Fevurly for more than 50 years. She died Dec. 20, 1983. He later married Nora E. Rice Trezise Fevurly. She died Sept. 5, 2004. He worked as a crane operator for Missouri Valley Steel from 1940 until he retired in 1975. He was a member of the Northwest Baptist Church of Leavenworth. The family would like to thank the Parkway Care Home, whose staff made his last days joyful.

He is survived by two daughters, Lavara Jones, Kansas City, Mo., and her husband, Donald; and Doris Vance, Leavenworth; five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; wives Edna and Nora; sisters, Mildred Steed and Lucille Stolte; brothers Lloyd Fevurly and Cedric Fevurly; and a granddaughter, Denise Jones.
