MR JIM GRIFFET DIES FRIDAY A M
Funeral Services For Prominent North Georgian to Be Held Sunday Morning.
Mr Jim Griffeth, member of a prominent north Georgia family, died at a local hospital Friday morning at 10:20 o'clock. He is a brother of W G Griffeth and J T Gtiffeth of Athens and was a resident of Oconee county where he has lived all his life.
The funeral will be conducted at Bethabara church Sunday at 11 o'clock with Rev J W McWhorter in charge of services. He was for years a member of the Baptist church and a leader of the affairs of his community.
He is survived by his widow Luticia S Griffeth, three daughters, two sons and three brothers, J T, Walter and W G, and one sister.
He was 56 years of age and one of the largest planters in Oconee county. He had a large host of friends and was well known in Athens, where his death will be regretted and mourned.
