Born Nov. 7, 1943 to Walter and Florence Abplanalp in Murray, UT. Graduated from Bingham High School in 1962. Married Harvey Heap May, 1962. Later divorced. Married Thomas E. Nelson Nov. 1, 1968.

Music, singing, and playing the piano were an important part of her life. She enjoyed fishing, vacations in Hawaii, boating and house boating at Lake Powell with the kids, grandchildren, and dear friends. Our annual trip to Lake Powell will never be the same without her.

Preceded in death by both parents; and sister, Kaye Ard. Survived by husband; two daughters, Tamara Lee (Eric) Petterborg, Wendy Lynn (Willie) Garcia; one son, Sean Thomas (Mindy) Nelson; six grandchildren, Eric (Bubba), Erin (Gogi) Petterborg, Tyler, and Matthew Garcia, Jessica and Christopher Nelson.

The family thanks Salt Lake Regional Hospital doctors and staff, CNS Hospice Nurses, Doctor Anna Beck, Doctor Steven Mintz, and especially Doctor Joseph Sandy Brown for all the wonderful care that was given.

Services will be Wed. Jan 31, 2001, 11 a.m. at Redwood Memorial Estates, 6500 S. Redwood Rd. Friends may call Tues. 6-8 p.m. and one hour prior to services at Redwood Memorial Estates.
