Mrs. Ida Dean Dies; Funeral is Tuesday
The death of Mrs. Ida Dean, mother of Ernest Dean and a former resident of Bennington, occurred at 6 o'clock Sunday morning at the home of her son, Schuyler L. Dean of North Adams. In failing health for the past year, Mrs. Dean's passing was not unexpected.
Moving to Bennington from Connecticut in 1899, Mrs. Dean lived here until 1921. She was the widow of Schuyler L. Dean, Sr., who died in 1916. For the past 12 years she has lived with her son, Schuyler, in North Adams. She was a native of Cornwall, Conn. and in her 84th year.
She is survived by three sons, Schuyler L. Dean Jr. of North Adams, Ernest Dean of Bennington and one daughter, Mrs. Fred Russell (Lena) of Hartford, Conn. Ten grandchildren and nine great children are also left.
The funeral will be held from Haynes & Kane Funeral Home on Elm street at 2 o'clock Tuesday afternoon. The Rev. W.G. Towart of the First Baptist church will officiate. Burial will be in the family lot at Park Lawn cemetery.
