She was born on January 11, 1926, to the late Bertha Harris Barker and the late Bennie E. Barker in Caswell County, North Carolina.
She was first married to Warren C. Simmons, Sr., second to Clyde M. Collie, Sr., and third to Eldon Nephew, all of whom predeceased her.
Lois lived in Danville since 1967 and was a member of New Life Community Church. She was employed as a hairdresser at Belk-Leggett and later owned and operated Lois’s Beauty Salon.
She is survived by her son, Warren C. Simmons, and his special friend, Debbie Martin, of Lynchburg, Virginia; her daughter, Barbara C. Eanes, and husband, Johnny, of Danville, Virginia; a number of grandchildren, great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, and nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, Lois is predeceased by her son Clyde M. Collie, Jr. and her sisters Rena B. Lewis, Thelma B. Godsey, Hallie B. Dodson, Virginia B. Walker, and Mary B. Dodson.
The family will hold a private service for Lois. The family requests that memorial donations be made to the Danville Life Saving Crew (202 Christopher Lane, Danville, Virginia, 24543) or to a charity of your choice.
