Zelda M. Lundberg, 84, of Newton, Iowa, died on Monday, July 27, 2020, at MercyOne Newton Medical Center. The family will greet friends from 4-7 p.m., on August 3, 2020, (or in Zelda’s words stop by as long as the porch light is on) at the Izaak Walton League. Because of COVID and in the interest of public health a private memorial service and burial will be held. The service will be shown live on the Wallace Family Funeral Home and Crematory's Facebook page. Memorials will be used to benefit veterans.

Zelda, the daughter of Hugh and Mamie Lee (Hutchcraft) Bishop, was born on November 13, 1935, in Simmons, Missouri. During her elementary school years her family moved to Newton, Iowa, where she lived the rest of her life.

Zelda married Elden “PeeWee” Lundberg on June 21, 1952, in Omaha, Nebraska. Through the years Zelda worked at the Vernon Company, as a cake decorator at area grocery stores, and later at Farm and Home, where she retired.

Zelda was a hard worker and stressed to her family to work hard in all that they do. She enjoyed camping, quilting, and visiting with family and friends. When her grandchildren were involved she was never too far away if something wild and crazy was about to happen. Her family also loved the tradition that she started of giving everyone a $2 bill for Christmas. Zelda had a passion for supporting and helping veteran's organizations.

Zelda is survived by her children, Al Lundberg (Julie Bak) of Newton, Paul Lundberg of Newton, Nora (Craig), DeRonde of Otley, and Pam (Mike) DeBruyn of Newton; daughter-in-law, Cheryl (Dana) Dulohery; 12 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; her brother, Roger Bishop of Wichita, Kansas; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband in 1988; her son, Bob Lundberg; siblings, Wanda Wohlwend, Coy Bishop, Cecil Bishop, Danny Bishop, Grover Bishop, and Lucy Conley; and half-brother, Bill Dykes.
