William (Bill) Albert Ashley, age 74, of Milford, UT, passed away Tuesday morning, July 28, 2020 at the Southern Utah Veterans Home in Ivins, UT.
Bill was born October 30, 1945 in Hemet, CA; a son of the late Joe and Bernice Bradshaw Ashley.
He was sealed to Shirlene Hardy on October 7, 1967 in the St. George Temple.
Bill was a veteran of the Vietnam War where he served as a member of the US Navy. He was a member of the Crash Crew and Air Traffic Control on the USS Constellation aircraft carrier. He worked as a conductor on the Union Pacific Railroad.
He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints where he served as a scout master, stake high councilman, bishopric member and home teacher. He loved spending time in the mountains and at home with his grandchildren.
Bill is survived by his wife Shirlene, daughter Amy (Scott) Robinson of Cheyenne, WY; four sons Dustin (Jenna) of Enoch, UT; Nathan of Milford, UT; Blake (Jennine) of Herriman, UT; Kurt of Riverton, UT; sixteen grandchildren, four great grandchildren; and two sisters Janet Meyers of Richfield, UT and Susan (Weldow) George of Wasilla, AK. Bill is preceded in death by his parents Joe and Bernice Ashley of Minersville, UT; his
son Travis Ashley, his daughter Cindy Radley and his grandson Axl Ashley.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, August 1, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. at the Milford LDS 1st Ward Chapel, 748 W 600 S, Milford, Utah. A viewing for family members will be held on Saturday, from 10:00 to 10:45 a.m. at the Southern Utah Mortuary, 209 S. 100 W. Milford, Utah. Interment will be at the Milford City Cemetery.
